The island, which is volcanic in origin, is rich in thermal mineral springs, fumaroles and muds, which emerge just a few metres from the beach and make Ischia the perfect place to enjoy a stay of wellness and relaxation.
Sandy beaches alternate with rocky stretches of coast that can be reached via paths that descend down to the sea. During our boat tours, don't miss out on a visit to the beaches of Maronti, Citara - which is renowned for its beauty, Lacco Ameno, the characteristic Baia di Sorgeto, Cafiero and Bagnitiello.
The island is divided into 6 municipalities. Ischia, Casamicciola, Lacco Ameno, Forio, Barano and Serra Fontana.
In the town of Ischia, the island's capital, you can visit the Aragonese Castle, the Museum of the Sea, and the Antonian Library, which specialises in the island's history.
Casamicciola is famous for its thermal springs and its artisan studios that sell ceramics and pottery.
Lacco Ameno, as well as offering renowned beaches, is also home to the Museum of Villa Arbusto and the Greek remains of Pithecusa with its accompanying museum.
Forio, dominated by a fortified tower dating back to the fifteenth century, offers many attractions including the famous "Gardens of Poseidon", a spectacular hydro and thermal treatment resort in the enchanting Baia di Citara. A paradise of relaxation!
One of the best places for a little recreational pleasure is the port, which boasts many shops, cafès, restaurants and taverns where you can sample local specialities and listen to typical Neapolitan music.
